I rarely remember my own wedding anniversary, let alone make Mr Looby a card, but I always remember my friend's anniversary (and she always remembers ours so at least there's one card on the mantelpiece!). This was made using a kit from Hunkydory called Beary Nice. The background paper is also Hunkydory but from All The Girls paper pad. I also used some wide pink velvet ribbon(it hurt to use it!) and added a narrow purple velvet ribbon too. The sentiment is by Craftwork Cards.

Ray's Birthday

Forever Friends Twins
I needed to make a card for my daughter's friend's 13th birthday so once again turned to these cute little characters. I came across this decoupage in my box, all ready to put together and, as there were 2 identical images, I decided to make 2 almost identical cards (just the sentiments are slightly different).
I used a 5" x 7" card blank and used paper from the Pink Parfait range. I punched a border using a Martha Stewart punch and added fuchsia gems. So that the decoupage didn't look lost on the base card, I used a scalloped circle nestie to frame the base later. I used a Sakura glitter pen (transparent) to highlight the water beneath the main image. The sentiments are Craftwork Cards and were added to SU scalloped oval punch outs (a bit wonky looking at the photo, they don't look that bad in real life!)

Thank You Cards
Straight after Christmas comes Thank You note time! I am fairly old fashioned in that I like my children to send proper, hand written, thank you notes for their Christmas gifts.
The majority of the notes sent this year were like the ones above. I used some fairly plain green and red background paper (mainly spotty) and used a die by Cheery Lynn to cut the word thank you. I added a little Christmas embellishment to add a bit of interest.
I also made some that weren't especially Christmas themed.
These ones are Me to You (Tatty Teddy). They are just toppers, background paper and some silver die cut mats.

These 3 were made using some of the Lily of the Valley toppers from the sheet I used to make my friend's birthday card. I used a lacey square die cut and Craftwork Cards oval sentiments.

Spring Is Coming (honest!)
Sadly I was a bit too late to enter these into the I Love Promarkers Four Legged Friends challenge, but I can add them to my blog anyway! I've been doing a bit of Promarker practice recently and am beginning to fall in love with them all over again. Not sure why I stopped stamping and colouring in the first place as it really is a very relaxing thing to do.
I made 2 cards virtually the same so that I had 1 to use and 1 to pop into my spares box (the spare one has now been sent out so it didn't last long!).
I used some yellow Core'dinations embossed spotty card for the background. I received a huge 12x12 pad of this card not last Christmas but the one before, so I get a tick for using up something old. The message ovals are by Craftwork Cards and again are something that I've had 'forever' (and to be honest wouldn't be without as they are so handy).

Purple Birthday
So carrying on with my theme of using up stash that I've had for ages I found a lovely set of LOTV squares. I used some Docrafts paper from 6x6 stack along with some purple Centura Pearl card. I found the little flowers in a bag (can't be sure where they came from) and added a Craftwork cards oval sentitment. I've got another 19 of these squares from the same set to use....

My first card for 2013
Yes, I realise I'm going about things in the wrong order but I'm playing catch up! I made this card right at the end of 2012 for my friend's birthday which is the day after mine (hers is January 1st). Ages ago we were complaining to each other that it really isn't a good time of year to have a birthday so we always make sure we send each other a card.
I used a Kanban kit and added some Card Candi (still don't like it spelt with an 'i') and a little lilac bow. I'm on a mission to use at least some of my older stash this year (and I think I probably have enough stuff to last until the next decade!),

Hubby's birthday cards
The top card uses some fab Kanban die cuts bought as a kit from QVC. So easy to put a quick card together.
The bottom card is using my very favourite Forever Friends characters - this one is a die cut decoupage from the newly released retro collection. Some Card Candy and a bow just finishes it off.

Little Boy Football Card
This card uses one of my all time favourite boy images which I use time and time again - I think just about every boy in my son's classes through school have had a variation of this card. I use Glossy Accents on the ball image and I used a Craftwork Cards round sentiment to echo the footballs on the backing paper (a freebie downloaded from the internet).

Male Birthday
At least I think I sent it to a man! I was after a clean and simple background so I just embossed some lines onto a plain white card blank. The image (LOTV) seemed to shout out simple so I stamped it onto watercolour paper and got my trusty watercolour pencils out. The colours were minimal and the finished image was mounted onto another piece of white card. A Craftwork Card oval finishes it.

My Son's Birthday Cards
The top card was from his sister and used another LOTV image - anyone who knows my son would recognise him in this image, he could have posed for it! Some Stampin' Up paper, 2 small and 2 medium sized red brads and a Craftwork Cards sentiment completed it.
The second card was made using a FF A4 card kit, the only extra addition was the number 6 which was a stamped image stamped and embossed in silver and mounted using plain and scalloped circle nesties.

First Easel Card
Sorry, long time without blogging - been really busy with work and also making a little scrapbook album for my friend's 40th birthday. There was a time when I didn't think I'd get it finished but I'm happy to say that it was all done in time and has been posted off in time for her birthday this weekend.
I've been meaning to have a go at making an easel card for ages and finally got around to it with this one. Unfortunately I ran out of chipboard zero's so I had to use a letter o instead. Hopefully it won't look too obvious. I could really do with some more zero's but I think they only come with the other numbers of which I still have plenty.

Penny Black Saturday Week 64
Christmas is this weeks theme on Penny Black Saturday, right up my street! For this card I used half of a Craftwork Cards scalloped card wrap and covered it with paper from the Docrafts Daisy and Dandelion paper and edged it with black ink. The main card was covered with paper from the same pack. I embossed the PB tree and greeting and finished it off with a couple of swirly peel off corners which I thought matched the tree quite well and a ribbon tied in a knot.

Birthday Card

It's my work team leader's birthday next week so I've finally had a chance to use the Stampin' Up Golden Oldies set. I love the gentle humour of them. I stamped it using an old Whispers Ink pad (aubergine) - had them ages, I've let the children use them too and still going strong! I liked the look of it just stamped so I didn't bother with colouring. The paper was sent to me by a very good friend because I happened to mention that I never had purple or lilac paper when I needed it! The sentiment is Craftwork Cards (yes again!) and is mounted using the Stampin Up oval punches which fit them so well. The 'frilly bit' was made with the Fiskars Threading Water border punch.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 1
Was away last week so that's why there's been nothing new!
Came back to Challenge number 1 on Crafty Cardmakers which was Blossoms. Had to make a card for my nieces birthday at the end of the month and this is what I came up with. The card blank is pre-printed with the pink flowers (from a QVC Forever Friends kit) and I stamped and coloured the image using watercolour pencils. The outer circle is a very pale pink pearlescent paper and the scalloped oval is punched with a Stampin Up punch on pink glitter card. The message plaque is by Craftwork Cards and the lovely big flower is from a jar of Prima Daisy Doodles which I bought in Florida earlier this year.

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Challenge 62
My first ever challenge card! I liked the sketch on a spoonfull of sugar and had the image all ready to be made up into something. Image is PB, the paper is DCWV, the sentiment is Craftwork Cards
